Hong Kong Calls

Hello from HK! Very diverse, nice to be back, but boy do I miss Americans and American accents. Aussies accents = not sexy. Chinese = even worse. Singaporeans = cringe worthy. (Sorry guys, I know this is not very PC, but just how I feel, I don't mean to be offensive!!!)

Creepy Third Year? lol

So summer is winding down and it's time to enter the working world in earnest. I now live a 40-min drive outside Philly. I headed for the suburbs. Kind of. I live a mere 12 minute walk from work!! Amazing!! At any rate, the social scene is still in Philly and I find myself still... kind of in the thick of Hogwharts activities! Somehow I know a lot of new first years, and I've also dedicated myself to supporting the Christian Fellowship. Since b-school flies by and everyone graduates after only two years, keeping the fellowship running smoothly can be challenging so I'm glad I can help out.

I just went to a Christian Fellowship brunch yesterday and met a whole bevy of new first years. They were so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the thick of Pre-Term! It almost felt like I was back for a third year. lol It's pretty weird - does this mean I get to have the Hogwharts social scene without the stress of recruiting or schoolwork? And I get to do the social thing without feeling forced to? In any case, I can't underestimate the comfort of being in a familiar setting. Although Philly as a city is probably not somewhere I would rank as one of my top choices to live in, it surprised me how good it felt to be back in Philly yesterday and walking down Walnut.

Philly Part Two: The New Class! lol (I feel like Screech on Saved by the Bell, when everyone else graduated and he was the only one left. With Belding.) hahaha

The Great Beyond

Welcome to the Great Beyond! What, there is life after business school? But we already had more than our fair share of fun, what will we do now? A few of us came up with the idea of keeping in touch past b-school via a group blog. Pick a nickname - this blog is a place where you can share more personal things that you don't necessarily want to broadcast on Facebook! Post often but don't say the name of our school, we don't want to this to show up in Google searches!! XD If you must refer to it, call it Hogwharts lol

So graduation was almost two weeks ago, and we are slowly figuring out what it feels like to be out of school. Thanks to lingering activities like the Israel Trek and the Lauder Culture Quest, my Facebook mini-feed thinks we are merely on vacation. However, subtle changes are alerting me to the fact that we've been ejected from the mother ship, like the fact that the little red light on my BlackBerry doesn't blink nearly as much as it used to. Funny - in the beginning the email onslaught was overload, but now that it's not there I'm in withdrawal. What will the rest of life after business school look like??
